DGI have experienced significant growth in demand for aluminium investment castings in the last few months. Aluminium has always been a relatively small part of the UK investment casting portfolio, most of the lost wax casting being in carbon and stainless steel and other non ferrous materials.
DGI have been developing the process for aluminium casting and results are now significantly improved. The quality of investment casting that is now achieved is consistent and of extremely good quality. Minor surface finish issues that were experienced from time to time have now been overcome with subtle changes to the process.
DGI can now offer a wide range of investment cast aluminium parts with full confidence that yield and quality will be as high as other materials that are cast.

What's the best way for me to reduce the weight of my investment casting? Could I make it in titanium?
Titanium is a possibility but we may well be able tio engineer some weight out of the part without losing the intrinsic strength and functionality. We use some bespoke software that enables us to optimise the design whilst eliminating issues such as voids or shrinkage.
This software works equally well with investment castings or larger sand castings.

How do I get this done? I only have a sample part...no drg?
Give us a call, email me a photo or send us a sample. We would be happy to send someone out to discuss with you.
Where are you based?
I'm in Norwich.
No problem, opur Sales Engineer, Allan walker, covers your area. You can see him and get his contact details from the "meet the team" section.
Thanks, will be in touch
Investment castings use very flexible tooling, which means you can produce really complicated designs. It doesn't usually affect the piece part price either, you only buy the tool once and if the parts are made in China then the tooling cost is generally pretty low as well.
